Sometimes, the sense of humor of Filipinos is really absurd. Even in the middle of serious problems or tragedy, Filipinos can still find a way to joke around. Some say that it is a good attitude. Just laugh at your problems. Laughter is the best cure of all problems and sickness.
Certainly, that is in our character. So, it is not quite surprising that even the Hayden Kho scandal was subjected to humorous jokes. Here are some of the cellphone jokes featuring Hayden Kho:
Joke # 1
What will you say if Katrina Halili says hi to you?
Answer : “Eh di Hay den!”
Joke # 2
What do you call a camera that is hidden?
Answer: Hayden Khomera?
Joke # 3
Who is the first victim of swine flu in the country?
Answer: Katrina Halili, because she said “binaboy ako”.

Yes, this is the new Kristen Stewart!
Ready to rock the world after her sweet image as Bella Swan in the blockbuster movie Twilight.
The netizens and Twilight fanatics are having serious debate whether she rocks or she shocks as she shows off her mullet. But I guess that the real Kristen in real life, full of life and spunk and not the Bella Swan we would like her to be.
But don’t worry because the 19-year-old actress had cut her hair - only for her role as rocker Joan Jett in the new movie The Runaways. Kristen and Dakota Fanning star together in this film and in the Twilight sequel, New Moon.

Spell Remittance, Capital L-B-C! Have you seen that LBC TV commercial?
Well, if not yet sorry but you can’t watch it anymore since it was already pulled out by LBC.
Admittedly, I also laughed when I first saw the commercial, I thought it was cute and funny but seriously it was not.
In the commercial Edu Manzon is the Spelling Bee Host asking a grade school student to spell REMITTANCE, The student, after pausing and remembering how his mother receives money remitted to her by their father abroad through an LBC branch, answers, “Remittance: Capital L-B-C,” and Manzano acknowledges with a “Tumpak!”.
Thankfully, in response to the letter received by LBC Express Inc. from DepEd Secretary Jesli Lapus asking for the immediate pullout of the said TV commercial as it may give students bad spelling habits, the company immediately ordered its advertising agency to stop airing the controversial commercial featuring a grade school spelling bee parody.

Funny, but I guess only few would recognize Lady Gaga without her poker face. I mean her ridiculous choice of outfits and hairstyle.
So, why keep on complaining about her eye-hurting style if that is where the Lady became famous. Before becoming Lady Gaga, she is Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta in real life, born March 28, 1986. That is right, the lady is just 23 years old. Lady Gaga began her career as a songwriter for established artists, including Fergie, Pussycat Dolls, Britney Spears, New Kids on the Block, and Akon. It was Akon who recognized that Gaga also had vocal talent and signed her to a joint deal with his own label, Kon Live Distribution, and then she started to work on her own new material for her debut album.

Have you seen the Brazilian Daiana Menezes in the noontime show Eat Bulaga? I have seen her once and I must say that she is really cute and funny. I heard she is currently dating Carlo Guevara, the Be Bench Model Search winner.
Daiana is the cover of the June 2009 issue of Maxim, which is also dubbed as the magazine’s first-ever comedy special. To explore more on the humor side of life, the magazine also features interviews with Edgar Mortiz; Freddie Webb; local standup comics Alex Calleja, Tim Tayag and Mike Unson; Vic Sotto; Vhong Navarro and Rufa Mae Quinto and the life and career of the late Rene Requiestas.
This is no time to joke now, because certainly I am against CON-ASS!!
Honestly, i still have at least 60% confidence on the Arroyo administration that the 2010 election will push through. With regards to her popularity, I gave her a passing grade of 75, not bad huh!
Basically, I am really an optimistic person that is why despite all the controversies and all the hullabaloo of GMA’s administration, I am still generous to commend all her hard works and efforts.
But, the recent goings-on about CON-ASS or the Constitutional Assembly wherein some of our respected Congressman are trying to make way to change the constitution in favor of somebody is just too much.
What we need is strict implementation of the existing laws and not CON-ASS!!

Love or Bread is the latest Asianovela offering of ABS-CBN. It stars the two Taiwanese we’ve come to love in “It Started With A Kiss” and “They Kiss Again”.
Joe Cheng and Ariel Lin, comes back again in another tagalized romantic comedy series at Kapamilya network. Joe plays Frank, he pretends to be rich but is really in debt while Ariel plays Shan Mei who is poor, kind, and is the bread winner of her family. The two unexpectedly meet and had to live in a worn out house together. One is lazy and irresponsible, one is hard-working and kind-hearted, two different individuals whose only similarity is to live for money.
But I’m not sure yet which timeslot will it occupy, whether the Hapontastic or the Primetime bida.

Up, up and away!
Up is the funniest movie I have recently watched, but admittedly, I shed more tears than laughter because of some touching scenes.
Up is a 2009 computer-animated comedy-adventure by Pixar Animation and distributed by Walt Disney Pictures. The film is about the story of Carl Fredricksen, a cranky old man who fulfills a promise to his wife and of Russell, an overeager Wilderness Explorer who needs to earn his “Assisting the Elderly” badge in order to be a full pledge Senior Explorer. Together they fly to South America in a floating house suspended from helium balloons.
But the film is more than just funny, it has other twists that will make you realize and value your dreams and love ones. It teaches moral lessons about what is more important in life and what should be prioritized.

Definitely… Hanakimi (Hanazakarino Kimitachihe - also known as Hua Yang Shao Nian Shao Nu, the Taiwanese version) is my funniest asianovela. I only watched it through Youtube due to my work schedule, but I was surely hooked by the funny antics of Ella Chen (as Lu Rui Xi) and Wu Chun (as Zuo Yi Quan). The characters of Jiro Wang and some others like Mei Tian, the gay school health official made the show even funnier.
Hana Kimi is a romantic comedy about Rui Xi who pretended to be a male so that she could study in the all-boys school with ZuoYi Quan, her love interest.
The series was also broadcasted in Singapore, Malaysia, Canada and of course here in the Philippines. Hana Kimi will be broadcasted again in ABS CBN on June 7 at 10am.
Asianovela is the common slang word we use here in the Philippines for dubbed South Korean, Japanese, Chinese and Taiwanese TV series.
Do you know that the first ever asianovela shown in the country is not Meteor Garden of ABS-CBN? Yes, contrary to what is commonly perceive that it was in the popular Taiwanese Drama Meteor Garden where the slang coined the asianovela slang, actually Amazing Twins, a Taiwanese TV series on IBC-13 started it in 2002. But the popularity of Asianovela heightened only during on 2003, thanks to Meteor Garden.

Yeah, who would forget the F4 fever? I love Dao Ming Zhu, in fact I still have one of his life size portrait up to now. Funny indeed, we are so insanely caught up with the F4 mania or the Meteor Garden Mania at that time. But it was a wonderful memory that we will never forget! Thanks F4 and San Chai…
